Carpet Cleaning

Dirty carpets not only look unsightly but also produce unpleasant odours and wear out quicker due to the abrasive action of dirt. We can remove the dirt and stains to leave your carpets look and smelling great. We have developed a five stage cleaning process which produces excellent cleaning and fast drying times. The process is based on extensive research and brings together the best practices from across the industry.

Dry vacuuming
Carpets are dry vacuumed to remove loose dirt and dust, this ensures the cleaning solution penetrates deep into the carpet without being absorbed by the loose particles which sit on the surface, this way the solution is much more effective against the dirt and stains which have bonded to the fibres. Vacuuming prior to cleaning also lifts the carpet pile allowing the cleaning solution to penetrate deeper into the carpet.

Pre-spraying
The entire carpet is sprayed with a cleaning agent designed to breakdown the fats and oils that bind dirt and stains to carpet fibres. Particular attention is paid to heavy stains and where necessary stains are treated with the appropriate stain remover. Pre-treating the carpet means less cleaning solution has to be used when cleaning which speeds up drying and reduces the risk of water damage to wool carpets.

Agitating
The carpet pile is agitated using a special carpet brush, a power brush can be used for large areas, this works the cleaning agents and stain removers into the carpet ensuring stains and dirt are broken down, it is particularly effective on heavily soiled areas. The carpet begins to look cleaner at this stage.

Shampooing/steam cleaning
An extraction cleaner is used to spray a solution of hot water and cleaning agents deep into the carpet which emulsifies the dirt and stains. The emulsion is instantly extracted taking the dirt and cleaning solution out of the carpet, a further pass of the extractor is made to ensure carpets are left as dry and clean as possible. The extractor is a very versatile piece of equipment and can deliver any combination of cleaning agents, stain removers and deodorisers depending on the requirements.

Grooming and drying
The carpet is groomed whilst still wet to return the orientation of the pile to its original position. An air blower is used to evaporate the water from the carpet to speed up drying. This is the final stage of cleaning and carpets are usually ready for use about 2 hours later.
